"The Weight" represents the burdens we carry ranging from depression to the everyday struggles we face in our lives. Sometimes our problems can be so overwhelming that it feels like we have the weight of the world on our shoulders. In contrast, “The Weight” also represents the strength of the people who keep us going when it feels like it is too much to bear alone.
Although it is very common, mental health continues to be heavily stigmatized around the world. I have spoken up about my own struggles with depression and anxiety. This piece is an extension of that conversation.
