Arachne 18x24

Inspired by the story of Arachne in Greek mythology.
Arachne was a master at the craft of weaving. So good that she caught the attention of Athena, goddess of wisdom and craft. Who challenged Arachne to see who the better weaver was. In Arachne’s tapestry she depicted the gods in a debaucherous light that Athena found offensive and flagrantly subversive. So to punish her for her lack of reverence for the Gods, she turned her into a spider.
I love Greek mythology. I weave it into my work when I get the chance. I hope you dig this image as much as I enjoyed making it!
