Being first generation Mexican American is something I take immense pride in. My parents risked everything for my sibling and me. They uprooted their lives in Mexico and moved to a new country. Where they didn’t know the language or the lay of the land.

First Generation can be interpreted in many ways. Are you first generation LGBTQ+ in your family? First generation to go to college? First Gen. to heal from generational trauma?

As for me, I made this design to wear as a sign of pride in my Mexican Heritage, and to let people know who we are and that we’re here to stay. This ones for the Pochos! That never felt American enough or Mexican enough.
