Francisco Reyes Jr, my friend, and co-worker has designed a new set of prints critiquing the politics of division and partisanship. Cisco and I often discuss politics and the use of elements, such as the red tie or American flag lapel pin to rally a certain audience and create tribal bonds through superficial symbols rather than deeper philosophies or policy ideas. I’d like to see both parties debate the merit of their ideas rather than lean on lazy color codes(politically or racially).
